Another summer wedding in the books! Laura and JP’s August Germantown Gables wedding may have been on the hottest day of the summer, but that didn’t stop them from having a grand ole time. It was such a fun day celebrating these newlyweds.
A Summer Wedding Celebration in Germantown
Laura and JP chose Germantown Gables for their summer wedding celebration. This venue was new to me but is truly a hidden gem in downtown Louisville. The modern venue has an industrial aesthetic with greenhouse inspired elements. It was the perfect backdrop for this summer wedding. Laura and JP really let the venue speak for itself, with minimal and classic decor. They chose classic black tuxes and black bridesmaids dresses with simple white florals and greenery. Laura was stunning in a satin bridal gown and a timeless lace veil.
Bride and groom decided not to see each other before the ceremony so the anticipation built throughout the morning as they prepared. JP shared laughs and some pre-wedding drinks with his boys before everything began. Laura got glammed up with her girls and shared special moments with her mom, brother and step-dad. Finally, it was time for the ceremony to begin.
Laura and JP’s dogs joined the bridal party in the processional. JP was tearful as he saw Laura for the first time in her beautiful gown. I love an emotional groom! The ceremony was short, sweet, and to the point – necessary in the crazy summer heat! After exchanging vows and rings, JP and Laura shared their first married kiss and were officially announced husband and wife!
After the ceremony and some photos, it was time for the fun stuff. Their cake was a special homage to their furry friends, with little paw prints in the icing. Maid of honor and best man gave heartfelt toasts. Then, Laura and JP shared their first dance as a married couple. Once the dance floor was open, the party really began. The newlyweds danced the night away with their family and friends!
