My second wedding of Memorial Day weekend will definitely be a memorable one! After 13 years of dating, Roger and Claire tied the knot at the beautiful and historic Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky.
The day started with a lot of excitement as tornado warnings had the bride and bridesmaids (plus me and the hair + make up artists) evacuating the historic Beam home for a safer place to take shelter from the storm. Thankfully, the team at Jim Beam went above and beyond to help and the storm didn’t stick around for long. The bridal party remained in good spirits, laughing it off to a good story to tell for years to come.
We utilized some of the amazing indoor spaces at Jim Beam for some bride and groom portraits during the rain, even getting the opportunity to go into buildings that aren’t normally open to the public! Despite the rocky weather in the morning, by ceremony time the sun was out to play – allowing for the festivities to move forward as planned.
Roger and Claire were married in a ceremony officiated by the father of the groom. The ceremony was short and sweet and they sealed the deal with a kiss! By the afternoon, we couldn’t even tell that there was a crazy storm mere hours before. We were able to take the remainder of photos outside, enjoying the beautiful grounds at the distillery.
We then moved to The Kitchen Table for the reception. With about 40 guests, the celebration was intimate but that doesn’t mean it was boring. This group knew how to party and the reception was truly on of the most lively that I have been a part of. Even the restaurant staff joined in dancing the night away.
Sending a big congratulations to the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Kurtz! It was such an honor to be a part of your wedding day. I hope the old wise tale is true and rain on your wedding day does bring you the best of luck in your marriage.
