It’s official – October wedding season is here! And there is no better way to kick off the busiest month of wedding season than with a familiar face. I had the absolute pleasure of capturing our bride’s twin sister’s wedding back in March of last year. I was thrilled when Ellie reached out to me to be a part of her wedding day too. Ellie and Brad’s Fall Wedding at St. Louis Bertrand and Mellwood Art Center was perfect and full of so much joy.
A Perfect Fall Wedding in Louisville
Ellie and Brad are just the sweetest couple and their wedding day was the best celebration of their love for each other. Their day started with mass at the beautiful St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church. Before mass started, we took a few photos of the separate bridal parties. The color palette was soft and romantic. The bridesmaids wore assorted dresses in pastel tones, which matched the bouquets perfectly. Ellie’s gown was simple and beautiful with flutter sleeves and a flowing skirt.
The church was full to the brim with friends and family, ready to celebrate Ellie and Brad’s nuptials. The wedding mass was a beautiful celebration of their faith and their commitment to each other. The service was made personal with readings from family members and a special dedication to Ellie’s late mother. After exchanging rings and vows, Ellie and Brad made it official with a kiss and were announced husband and wife for the first time.
After some family photos, we took a quick detour on our way to the reception to take some photos at a local park. Ellie and Brad’s love is so evident in how they look at each other. They are so easy to take photos of because their connection just shines through the camera!
As guests arrived at Mellwood Art Center for the reception, the bride and groom greeted everyone at the door. Once cocktail hour was over, it was time to start the celebration! Dinner was served and afterwards, the couple shared their first dance as husband and wife as well as special dances with their parents. The live band, This That and The Other, knows how to fill a dance floor! The celebration continued into the night.
Congratultions to Mr. and Mrs. Esselman!
It was such an honor to be a part of this joyful fall wedding at St. Louis Bertrand and Mellwood Art Center. Wishing Brad and Ellie a lifetime of happiness in their new chapter together. Keep scrolling to see some of my favorite images from their day.
