It is officially fall wedding season now that my last summer couple has tied the knot! Liz and Andrew had such a gorgeous August wedding at Gheens Foundation Lodge. It an honor to capture their day and to spend time celebrating their union with their family and friends. A Summer Wedding at Gheens
The wedding day started at out as most do, capturing wedding details and getting ready photos. As I arrived, Andrew and Liz excitedly told me about all of their personal touches throughout the wedding day. Liz wore a gorgeous satin wedding gown. She brought the look together with a classic updo of her beautiful red hair, elbow length satin gloves, and a stunning chapel length veil adorned with floral details. Andrew looked dashing in a light colored suit with emerald green accents. Liz and Andrew shared their first look in the gardens at Beckley Creek Park.
After we captured some couple portraits, it was time to make it official. Their ceremony was short and sweet on the lawn of Gheens Foundation Lodge. A highlight of the ceremony was the flower kids – nieces and nephews and a family of kids that Liz mentors prepared the aisle for Liz and Andrew to walk down together. They sealed the deal with a kiss and were announced as husband and wife!
The party really began with the reception! After toasts from the father of the groom and the bride herself, the live band started the entertainment for the evening. While some guests played yard games on the lawn, most stayed on the dance floor with drinks in hand and joy on their faces. Dessert was not your traditional wedding cake but cheesecake from a food truck and creme brulee cookies (that I can confirm were delicious!)
