If you know me at all, you know fall is my absolute favorite season. The colors, the weather, the spirit of change, and all things spooky – I love it all! No better way to start my favorite month than with a wedding! Ariel + Kris tied the knot this past weekend in a beautiful ceremony at their Camp Carlson Wedding in Fort Knox!
Fall Weather for a Fall Wedding
While some of the guests at Ariel + Kris’ wedding celebration may have thought it was a bit chilly, I was in heaven. My August and September weddings were HOT so this weekend was a breath of fresh air. Brisk fall temperatures in the 50s and 60s accompanied the fall colors of this wedding. And better yet, we got some fall color as well!
When I first met with Ariel and Kris last fall, they were really hoping for all the fall vibes at their Camp Carlson Wedding. I was skeptical as the leaves typically don’t change until mid October. While there was still a lot of green, some yellow and reds were popping out, complimenting their color scheme perfectly!
Camp Carlson: An Idyllic Location for a Wedding
These two lovebirds got married at Camp Carlson Army Recreation Center in Fort Knox, Kentucky. This was a new venue for me and it was so so beautiful! This venue only serves military families so it may not be accessible to all couples planning a Kentucky wedding but the views are so worth it for those who can take advantage of their space! The ceremony space overlooks a 25 acre lake making for the perfect backdrop to say your vows!
Ariel + Kris told me their ceremony was going to be short, sweet, and to the point. A lot of my couples say this in their consultations but these two meant it. Their ceremony was less than five minutes! Some couples don’t need all the bells and whistles – they just want to spend forever together.
