This sunny Saturday, Justin and Claire got married! As a Louisville Wedding Photographer, I was so honored to have been a part of such a joyful and colorful wedding celebration at a classic Louisville venue. Justin and Claire exchanged vows in a ceremony at Duncan Memorial Chapel in Crestwood, Kentucky. Following the ceremony, the couple celebrated with a reception at Mozza Pi nearby in Anchorage, Kentucky.
Intimate Ceremony in Classic Louisville Chapel
Nestled in the serene surroundings of Oldham County, Duncan Memorial provides an idyllic backdrop for a wedding ceremony. With its charming stone architecture, stained glass windows, and quaint wooden pews, the chapel creates an atmosphere of timeless beauty, perfectly matching Justin and Claire’s vision for their special day.
To start the day, Justin and the groomsmen played poker and had some fun taking photos around the pool. Afterwards, I made my way to the chapel to document Claire getting ready for the big day. The bridesmaids and mother of the bride were gushing at how beautiful Claire was in her gown. With anticipation, guests arrived and awaited the big moment.
The ceremony was an intimate affair, attended by close family and friends. As Claire walked down the aisle, adorned in a simple chiffon gown with lace details, there was not a dry eye in the room. Justin, looking dapper in his classic black suit, could hardly contain his emotions as he saw his bride approaching. The officiant told Justin and Claire’s ten year love story and they sealed the deal with a kiss.
Cozy Wedding Reception at Local Pizza Spot
Following the ceremony, guests made their way to Mozza Pi for the reception, a delightful change of pace from the traditional banquet hall setting. Mozza Pi, known for its rustic charm and wood-fired cuisine, offered a warm and inviting atmosphere. The exposed brick walls and wooden beams, coupled with the aroma of freshly baked pizza, set a cozy and relaxed tone for the evening.
The reception began with a cocktail hour featuring a lemonade bar and freshly baked focaccia bread. After finishing photos at the chapel, the newlyweds made their grand entrance. Dinner was a delightful feast, with wood-fired pizzas taking center stage. The couple’s favorite, a sweet onion marmalade, was a particular hit.
After a heartfelt toast from the best man, Justin and Claire shared their first dance. Following the special dances with their parents, the cake was cut and the dance floor was open! Guests ate s’mores and enjoyed the open air venue on a beautiful summer evening. Claire and Justin shared one final dance to Noah Kahan’s Forever (one of my personal favorite songs). Finally, the guests created a tunnel of sparklers to usher the newlyweds into married life.
