Y’all, this one was a fun one! This weekend I captured Jamie and Carson’s Show Barn at Daynabrook Farms wedding in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. After my rainy drive from Louisville to central Kentucky, it was clear the weather wasn’t going to cooperate. However, instead of a little rain dampen the mood, Jamie and Carson embraced it with grace and joy. It was truly such a special celebration.
Jamie + Carson – A Tale as Old as Time
I hadn’t had a chance to meet the bride and groom until the week of their wedding as the couple lives out of town due to Jamie’s unique job! She’s a performer at Disney World, which may officially be the coolest job of any of my past clients. You’ll see photos of a few nods to her character sprinkled into the decor. After a quick coffee with Jamie and Carson, they already felt like friends. They are so laidback and kind and their love for each other is so apparent! With their attitudes towards, they are the perfect kind of couple for a rainy wedding day!
They shared a tear-filled first look under a covered porch. We had to get a little creative for portraits. Although we couldn’t explore the open fields just yet, we made great use of covered porches, open barn doors, and a few clear umbrellas. Jamie and Carson (and their bridal party) were relaxed, joyful, and completely present with each other—which made my job easy.
The rain did clear but the aftermath was some muddy grass where the ceremony was originally planned. Last minute, the plan changed and the guests were moved inside the barn. The bride and groom stood framed by the open barn doors overlooking the beautiful rolling hills of Central Kentucky. Honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. Despite the change of plans, it was a beautiful setting for Jamie and Carson to make their marriage official.
Later, the celebration continued with a lively reception. After a delicious dinner, guests filled the barn with laughter and heartfelt toasts. Once the dance floor was open, the energy was high and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. We even got a little performance by Jamie and some of her cast-mates, which was so fun! The night ended with a private last dance for our couple leading to a classic sparkler send off!

In the end, this wedding was a beautiful reminder that the best moments often come from the unexpected. Though the rain changed the plan, it didn’t take away from the joy of the day. If anything, it made it more memorable. Jamie and Carson’s love shined through every part of their wedding, and I feel truly honored to have captured it. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness in this new chapter of their lives together.
