October 19, 2024 | Work the Metal | Louisville, Kentucky
And with that, October wedding season is officially over! I can’t believe that 2024 is (very quickly) coming to an end. We only have 2 more weddings this year here at MM Photo Co! Lauren and Jake were the perfect couple to capture for my last wedding in my favorite month. Keep scrolling to see some of my favorite images from their Work the Metal wedding.
A Fall Wedding in Downtown Louisville, Kentucky
Lauren and Jake got married the heart of downtown Louisville at some iconic city spots. We spent the first few hours of the day at Hotel Genevieve, a new boutique hotel in the Nulu area. This hotel is such a fun space to celebrate and I was so excited to get to take some of their couple portraits here. After time getting ready, we went to the rooftop bar for their first look. Lauren and Jake gave each other letters and spent some time enjoying each others company before the fun started!
After some photo time at the hotel, we made our way over to Work The Metal in Butchertown Market. While I’ve spent some time in Butchertown Market, I had no idea they had an event space available. Lauren and Jake’s guest list was intimate, a perfect size for this space. Their wedding day was casual and laid back, a testament to who they are as people. Guests arrived to a pre-ceremony cocktail hour, visiting and enjoying refreshments before they officially tied the knot.
Officiated by a close friend, the ceremony was short and sweet. Lauren and Jake said their vows, exchanged rings, and ended the ceremony with a hand fasting. After they were officially husband and wife, the party really began! After heartfelt toasts by the father of the bride, best man, and mother of the groom, the groom decided to give a speech as well. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house as he talked so passionately about the love for his new wife.
They cut the cake, shared their first dance, and captured a quick group photo with all of the guests. After that, the dance floor was open! This crowd knew how to have a good time. The bride and groom’s dog Pikachu even joined the dance party at the end of the night. Overall, it was a fun time celebrating Louisvlle’s newest married couple!
Congratulations to the Newlyweds!
It was such a pleasure to capture Lauren and Jake’s Work the Metal wedding. Sending their little family lots of love as they embark on this new chapter in their lives together. Can’t wait to watch your love grow over the years. Thanks for trusting me to capture part of your love story!
